The Sci-fI MMORPG titan EVE Online is taking a voyage into the mobile gaming universe with the announcement of its MMO mobile gaming venture – EVE Echoes. Just like its illustrious forerunner, the next gen mobile spinoff will feature a near-endless universe of 80,000+ solar systems complete with the exploration, PvP and PvE battles, mining, trading, industry and sophisticated player economy that has elevated EVE Online to become a paradigm of the MMO genre.

EVE Echoes is the result of a CCP Games & NetEase Games collaboration three years in the making. Through livestreams and Q&As, community input has been fed into the development every step of the way to ensure that this mobile rendition of the fan favourite will be up to scratch – and the results look promising.

EVE Echoes provides countless options for players as they can choose a unique path on their own to experience the universe and dive into PvP or PvE battles. The game also comes packed with several side activities like trading, mining, and other things related to the economy in the multiplayer sandbox of New Eden.

Players will be free to engage in interstellar combat, resource collection, industrial manufacturing, trade, exploration as well as many other activities across thousands of planetary systems. Whether it is an empire’s rise and fall, or the change in the balance of power, the entire history of EVE Echoes will be written by its players. The game will utilise NetEase Games’ proprietary graphics engine, NeoX, in combination with CCP’s game design to realise stunning starry skies, boundless star-fields, majestic planets and unpredictable asteroid belts at unprecedented graphical detail on mobile devices.

Co-developed by NetEase Games and CCP Games, EVE Echoes sets out to “(deliver) what players love about EVE Online to mobile platforms”. It seeks to provide a similar experience to the PC version, just more portable, including mechanics which support space exploration, PvE Battles, mining, trading, industry or going up against other players. Not all content from the main game is or will be available in EVE Echoes, but they are looking to implement features including sovereignty and larger ship hulls.
